Eye Of Judgment Series 2 Cards Hitting US On April 28th
We had some breaking Eye of Judgment news to tell you, but then we kind of leaked it all in the headline. Regardless, Sony has announced that the formerly delayed Eye of Judgment Series 2 cards will be available April 28th in US stores. The related download (we're assuming to make the pretty cards work) will be available in the PlayStation Store on April 25th. We're sorry, we mean the newly redesigned PlayStation Store on April 25th.

@twesterms 2nd: Since I'm guessing you are using VGChartz numbers, you should know that doesn't include sales from Others, where the PS3 tends to be stronger.

@evolution0:
Ouch, someone pretending they know me. Pardon me for hating a bad game.
And just for the record, I liked Uncharted. ;-)

I thought they had an elaborate system in place that stopped copied cards from working *shrugs*
oh well, Im still not going to cheat...

From what I hear this game does have a decent following. the biggest complaint I'm hearing is that these cards for set 2 are already out in Japan, so the Japanese dudes/chicks keep kicking all the people I know's asses.

@MikeH: The reason you have to pay to use the cards so people can't just copy the cards and play for free. At least they have to pay something.

@jayntampa:
Whoa Jay! I didn't know you played EoJ...!!!
I need to add people's gamertags and PSN's. If anyone is interested, feel free to add me and give me a shout this weekend. Especially if it's COD4 or EoJ related!
Peace.

@twesterms 2nd: you hate anything and everything playstation related so this doesn't come as a suprise.
evolution0
I think the EOJ update 2.0 with its 1350 or so files does contain everything to play, the only thing missing is the set 2 license.
If only cards would ship faster...

I'll be buy the cards -- the game is a lot of fun, and the new cards add a lot of new dynamics. I can't really stomach the people that copy cards -- it's the same thing as pirating a game. We only get quality releases if people pay for the products, not if they steal 'em.
jayntampa
@Strange Bedfellows: $14.99 for the "license" to use the cards
I just ordered two more boxes of boosters yesterday, hopefully I'll have 110/110 by the time I'll unload more cash for set 2 cards.... =)

Like others have said, I love this game. I have probably close to 200 - 300 cards (all legit), and I can't wait for the expansion.
Also, if you want a gauge of popularity, go to any GameStop and ask if they have booster packs. 9/10 they'll be sold out.

@Violater:
Oh yeah dude...it's actually got quite the following.
The game is stupifyingly addictive and fun. I'm a original Magic: TG fan (we're talking series 1 and from being from Seattle) and an occasional CCG player. But I was ready to give up CCG's for good recently. Until this hunk of crack fell from the sky and landed on my PS3.
I'm not going to try and sell the game. But the game is ALOT easier to manage than traditional games. Fewer cards, the game 'plays out' all of the rules and moves. And MOST of all.....it's less about dropping money into collecting than it is using strategy within the game. A co-worker of mine said it best, "It's most like a game of chess with playing cards! You can have powerful stuff, but if you don't control the board correctly, a much weaker deck can still win."
It's good stuff. Don't knock it til you try it. ;-)
djgil
Do you have to buy the cards AND play for the download? Thats outrageous.
MikeH
I tried this game and I must say I hated it. I know people like to say it has a strong following, but 200k isn't a lot and 5 people saying on a forum they love it isn't a strong following.
I suppose it's good that they're continuing to support the game so hopefully more like it will come out but I'm sorry, I just hated this game with a passion (and I even love card games).
The whole being able to cheat with ease thing didn't thrill me too much either.

@Seiven:
I hear year. Those ultra rares are bitch to find. Will the first set still be available after this one is out, or should I buy a box now?
And by 'buy a box' I mean lament the fact that I'm broke.
doubtful
wtb pokemon version of this game but with the same level of brutal violence. I guess the battle revolution will have to do but damnit.
Derigor
Yea as an old baseball/marvel card addict. I love buying and trading with my buddies.
And yes there are people actually playing this game. almost no wait for a match online.
Cant wait to devote mounds of cash to the new cards, I need more bioliths! Love the damned artwork on em
Derigor
this game gets my heart pumping more than any other game on the ps3 right now. although the fanbase may not be as large as for other games, the fanbase is loyal. the real shame is that non us players already have access to these cards and will have a much better understanding of their uses by the time they appear stateside.
flynn110
I picked this up yesterday, started playing a little late at 11:30, I finished up at 4:30 am. THIS GAME IS ADDICTIVE.
CaptLtrl
@Jmontilla2786: I have it and it's awesome. I think it's one of the great unsung exclusives of this console generation so far. Anybody with an interest in, they're selling it used, with 60 cards, the camera, the stand, and the playing mat, for only 29.99 at GameStop. A fucking steal!
Strange Bedfellows
Im holding out on downloading the update until I actually but some cards.... my student loan isnt gonna like this :P
exion
Count me in as one of the fans of this game, the only reason my purchase of the cards isn't what I would like it to be is that there just isn't enough retailers in my area for me to really support the game.
Randomcitizenx
I really like this game because I do not have to keep up with the rules. I've seen copies work just fine, but I refuse to do any of the such. I have purchased many packs of cards and love just the thrill of seeing what rare or ultra rare cards I get. I'm an old basbeall card addict :). I hope they fix issues with copies working, but I really doubt they can. Either way I will be ready when these cards hit the market.
Elderwulf
Are people even playing this game?
Violater
I still need to complete set 1, damn this game is fun but such a money sink
Seiven
meh better late than never
Seiven
I dont like card games but this game kicks ASS. Sadly this is the game that made all my friends buy ps3's. Well this and metal gear but ya'know.
There is a good following for this game, lotta people playing online.
Derigor
@Jmontilla2786: And thats more people than play majority of the CCG's that are released every month, for a CCG it's a great success in numbers, maybe not amazing for a videogame, but when you consider that those same people buying the actual game are also buying cards to go with it, there is money to make.
Also the game is worldwide play, not closed by region. Lot of people playing.
Kyle81
@Jmontilla2786: yeah man, I myself know a couple of people really into the game....I've heard from a lot of people around (online ps3, forums online) that there is a pretty heavy following for this game....some folks really love it.
iToke
Did they fix the thing where you can use cut-outs/pictures to use them online? If yes then I see no use for these cards. I still want to try this game our.
goldwings
lol does anyone really have this game? I mean the game hasn't sold more than 200,000 copies. How many of them are actually gonna go buy these cards....5 people? 20 maybe?
Jmontilla2786
Cool. Anybody know how much the download will cost?
