I actually dug out my old PS1 games the other days, and R-Types nestles amongst them. Have to give it a blast, as R-Type was one of my fave shmups :)

Is R-Type Delta coming? That is the best R-Type game of them all. It came out on PSOne.

Basically they need to come out with these PSOne shooters:

Gradius Gaiden (Japan Only)

Einhander

If the release is fairly soon, then I'd rather download this off the PSN than the Wii Shop Channel's recently released R-Type. Hopefuly Remote Play will be enabled so I can take my R-Type on the go on my PSP!

R-Type Final was a great game, but I would recommend Delta over it. Visually it's just so much more vibrant and colorful and the stages are all so incredibly varied and distinct from one another. Both solid shooters though.

Yeah! Just the other day I was complaining about the lack of PSone games being released on PSN, and earlier today I was ranting to my buddy about how I wish more scrolling shooters were readily available. This is fan-fucking-tastic news. I've always preferred top-down scrollers to side scrollers, but I can hardly complain about this. Will be buying immediately upon release.

I don't understand why Square never developed any sequels for that game -- It's just sooo damn good! A sequel or a remake would be perfect for DLC, if only Square would follow Capcom's recent example.

I still have my copy of R-Type Final(PS2) 100 percent complete with all 101 ships. i love throwing that game on when friends come over and they wanna see mass destruction:D

does anyone know if the PSone "classics" on the PSN are region free? I know that PSone and PS2 discs are still region locked, but what of DLC?

I kinda fancy getting ahold of some of the US store PSone titles...

R-types is a good start, but I already have the original PSone disc on my shelf, G-Darius would be awesome though! I never played the full game, but I abused that demo disc thoroughly as a kid!
